The Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya (IDC) (PIC 999820323) is Israel’s premier fully-accredited liberal arts institution of higher education. The IDC takes great pride in its faculty of approximately 200 scholars whose research output in the social sciences is among the highest in Israel; a select student body of 8000 (including some 2000 international students from 86 different countries); 10 schools offering a broad range of undergraduate and graduate degrees; and 30 research centers. Our interdisciplinary research is recognized worldwide in both competitive grants and publications; it is also ranked exceptionally high on SSRN. We have over 100 active grants, including multiple ERC and Horizon 2020 grants. Our bilateral research and teaching agreements – notably with Princeton University, The University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School of Business, The Maxwell School of Syracuse University, Washington University St. Louis, University of Ottawa, University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University, Charles University in Prague, The Freie University of Berlin, Heinrich-Heine University of Dusseldorf, and Singapore Management University – are a testament to the quality of research and education we offer. The project will be embedded at the IDC’s Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy. The School consists of some 20 active scholars, who publish their research in leading international journals and top academic presses. They have received numerous grants from Israeli, European, and American funding sources. The Lauder School is also home to the renowned International Institute for Counter Terrorism (ICT): a leading think tank that provides expertise in terrorism, counter-terrorism, homeland security, threat vulnerability and risk assessment, intelligence analysis, and national security. The annual counter-terrorism conference convened by the ICT draws approximately 1,000 participants from over 60 countries, including senior policymakers, heads of security agencies, business leaders, lawyers, and academics.
