The Center for Security Studies (C4SS) was established in 2009 as an interdisciplinary and interdepartmental centre that aspires to create intellectual environment conducive to the emergence of future generations of security experts from the Czech Republic and abroad. The centre brings together both internal and external research fellows as well as students. It aims to make a significant contribution to the establishment of a more permanent nature of inter-institutional research collaboration, both in the domestic and international context. The key poles of C4SS research agenda are the following: 1) conflict resolution and transformation; 2) privatization of security and terrorism; 3) new security threats; 4) small states security. Since 2003, MUP has been providing an award-winning social programme for students with physical disabilities entitled School without Barriers. The School without Barriers programme is dedicated to enabling students reach their full academic potential and helping them find professional positions on the labour market.
